Dolores Wilson, 2024 Dolores Mathilda Kuhl was born in 1929 in Michigan, the daughter of Alvin Emil Kuhl and Mary “Mamie” Frances (Adrosky) Kuhl. In 1930, she was living with her parents and four older siblings in Dearborn, Wayne County, Michigan, where her father was a toolmaker in an automobile parts factory and her mother was a homemaker. When the 1940 census was taken, the Kuhl family (including children Clemeth, Floyd, Dougald, Ilene and younger sister Jacqueline in addition to Dolores) was living in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Dolores, aged 10 years, had completed the fifth grade. Her mother was still housekeeping, and her father was still employed as a toolmaker in the auto industry. In 1947, Dolores’ older brother Donald Harold Kuhl was killed in an auto accident. He was only twenty years old. He had been working as a junior accountant for the Lybrand, Ross and Montgomery firm; he was living in Detroit at the time, but the accident happened in Port Huron. In 1950, the Kuhl...

Nancy Campbell, 1988 Nancy June was born in 1949, probably graduated from Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn, Michigan, and graduated from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan with her Bachelor of Arts degree in English. I was unable to discover her maiden name or anything about her childhood. She was married to Steven Jerold Campbell and began her teaching career in 1970. I first met Mrs. Campbell in the fall of 1987 when I began freshman honors English in her class at Avondale High School. In my yearbook from that year, she was also listed as a reading consultant. We had a wonderful time in her English class – and we worked very hard. We studied a lot of literature and gained a lot of experience in such matters, as most of our English and Reading courses before high school dealt mainly with grammar, spelling and the mechanics of writing and reading. We picked apart William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet for so long that, looking back, it seems we spent a whole ...

In 2005, she was a member of the school’s “Community Crew”. The yearbook states: “For those of you here at Coronado who don’t know what the acronym for the club FCCLA means, to help with your bewilderment, FCCLA stands for: Family, Career, Community and Leadership. Also, for those of you who haven’t even heard of FCCLA, here are some clues for you! FCCLA is an organization that provides opportunities for personal development and enables the students to be successful in their careers and with their families. The members of the club are involved in community service such as tutoring children. They also compete in culinary competitions.” Renee was registered to vote in Colorado at least by 2008. Judith Williams, 1988 Judith Eva Edwards was born in 1940 in Michigan, the daughter of Elmer Richard and Pauline Minnie (Cutler) Edwards. When the 1940 census was enumerated, Judith was living with her parents and older sister Sylvia in Hazel Park, Oakland County, Michigan. Her father was a gas station attendant and her mother a homemaker. In 1950, the Edwards family (then including Judy’s younger brother Donald) was living in Sterling, Macomb County, Michigan. At that time her father was a polisher in a polish shop, and her mother was keeping house. Judith was married in 1959 to James Wilbert Williams, also a Michigan native. Judith holds a BS degree from Eastern Michigan University in English, Speech and Social Studies. Mrs. Judy Williams was a member of the Southfield High School English Department in 1961; she must have been just out of college and a first-year teacher. The Williamses had three children, Jeffrey, Jennifer and Jeanie. I first met Mrs. Williams in the fall of 1988, w...
